Highlighting the meet was National Provisional qualifying performances by Rimar Christie on the men's side and Joy Warrington on the women's side.

Both Warrington and Christie had outstanding performances last week, and continued to hit national marks. Warrington won the shot put last week with a throw of 13.70m and nearly equaled her mark this week placing 7th with a throw of 13.61m / 44'8” currently placing her 16th in the nation. Rimar Christie set two school records during Saturdays competition running 8.44 in the 60 hurdles and 6.95 in the 60m.

Christies record in the 60 hurdles places him 1st in the GNAC rankings ahead of teammate Maurus Hope (8.53) and sets a new school breaking the previous one held by Dallas Beaty (8.49 from 2009).

Christie and Hope are currently sitting 1 and 2 in the 60 hurdles in the current GNAC rankings. Christie also raced to a 4th place finish in the 60m in a time of 6.95 seconds which is a National provisional qualifier and currently ranks him 30th in the nation. Christie ran 6.95 in both the prelims and finals showing good strength hitting the qualifier on his 4th race of the day.

Coach Dustin Ainsworth was happy with Christies performance today and said “Rimar is running really smart right now and certainly has the talent to take that time a bit lower, as the indoor season goes on he will continue to have quality people to race against with all the big teams we continue to see every week.”
