SEATTLE - The Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team fell 65-62 at Seattle Pacific University tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at Brougham Pavilion.

 

The Crusaders (12-10, 7-7 GNAC) were led by Beth Johnson's game, season, and career-high matching 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds from Megan Hingston.  SPU (14-7, 8-5 GNAC) was paced by Melissa Reich with 16 points and nine rebounds.

 

Also in double-figures for the Falcons were Caitlyn Rohrbach with 11 and Maddie Maloney with 10. 

 

NNU was held to just 33.8-percent (23-69) shooting from the floor and struggled at 3 for 13 from the three-point line.  SPU was a touch warmer, shooting 43.6-percent (24-55) from the field, but matched the Crusader coolness from the arc at just 3 of 12 from long distance.

 

NNU out-rebounded the Falcons 43 to 37, but committed 22 turnovers against 12 assists.

 

The Crusaders will now travel to Montana State University Billings for a Saturday GNAC counter against the Yellowjackets.
