FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Junior guard Monica Garcia scored a game and career-high 31 points to lead the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team past the University of Alaska Fairbanks 87-69 on Saturday afternoon at the Patty Center.

Garcia finished 11-for-17 from the floor, including three-of-five from the three-point line.  The Crusaders converted nine-of-18 three-pointers in the contest to even their GNAC record at 3-3 and improve to 8-6 overall.

Four Crusaders reached double-figures as Chelsie Luke scored 13, also hitting three triples, and Beth Johnson and Heather Adams added 11 and 10, respectively.  Adams added a game-high four assists.

NNU shot 41.7-percent (30-63) from the floor and held UAF to 38.5-percent (19-46) shooting from the field and four of nine from the three-point line.
