NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene's Chelsey Anderson tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Crusaders to a 4-0 game two victory over The College of Idaho on Tuesday afternoon at NNU's Halle Field.  The Coyotes won the opening game of the non-conference twinbill 6-0 behind the bat of Heather Dixon.
Anderson (4-18) scattered four-hits and struck out two to earn the complete-game victory in the nightcap, her fourth of the season.
The NNU game two offense was led by Kierra Pancheri and
Jael Henthorn.  Pancheri finished two for three with three RBI, including a two-run single in the third and a run-scoring double in the fifth.  The pair of Henthorn singles contributed to both rallies, with Henthorn scoring on both of Pancheri's hits.
Brooke Hesselgesser plated the other NNU run with a single in the fourth, scoring Anderson who had led off the inning with a walk and had advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Nikki Shumway led the Coyotes in game two, going two for two.  Brooke Judy (11-8) took the loss for The C of I.
The opening game was a display of power for C of I's Dixon, who homered in her first two at-bats, a two-run blast to right center in the first inning and a solo dinger to left in her second plate appearance, giving the first baseman her 15th and 16th round-trippers of the season.
C of I game one starter Jody Zillner (18-7) kept the Crusaders off balance, taking a perfect game into the fifth before
Haley Hevern collected the Crusaders first hit, a single up the middle.  It was the only hit Zillner would surrender and she would face just two over the minimum, walking
Dana Shipley in the sixth.
Zillner helped herself at the plate, finishing three for four with an RBI-double in the sixth.  Amy Rhoades, Haley Butcher, and Stacy Smith joined Dixon with two hits each as the Coyotes rapped out 12 hits.
Cara Duckworth (4-13) took the loss for the Crusaders.
The split moved the Coyotes to 29-16 overall, while the Crusaders are now 9-40.
The Crusaders will be back in action on Friday and Saturday when they host Saint Martin's University in their final four games of the season.  The GNAC doubleheaders will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
