#8 Falcons down NNU 72-68, Crusaders look toward post-season invitation tomorrow night

| By:
NAMPA, Idaho - Having already upset the #1-ranked team in the country just two weeks ago, the Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team was looking to make it two top-ten upsets inside of a month.

However the 8th-ranked Falcons from Seattle Pacific became the only team this season to exit the Johnson Sports Center as a winner, handing the Crusaders their first home loss of the season, a 72-68 setback in the final regular season game for both teams.  NNU finishes the year 18-9 overall, 11-5 in GNAC play, and an impressive 11-1 at home.

Both teams will be headed to the post-season, as NNU is currently ranked 6th in the West Region and SPU is first.  SPU (21-4, 14-2) earns the right to host the West Regional, while the Crusaders will have to wait until 7:00 p.m. MT tomorrow night to learn their fate in regards to seeding and a first-round opponent.

Lindsay Brady led the Crusaders with 16 points and was joined in double figures by Janee Olds with 11 and Brittney Roggenkamp and Jennifer Williams with 10.

Kelsey Burns led all scorer's with 21, 17 in the first half, and Daesha Henderson scored 15.  Megan Hoisington added 13 points and six rebounds, while Nyesha Sims scored 13 points on four-of-five shooting from the three point line.  Coming into the game, Sims was just two-of-15 on the season from beyond the arc.

The Crusaders out-rebounded the Falcons 36-35 shot 21-for-26 from the free throw line, but were held to just 36.2-percent (21-58) shooting from the field.  SPU hit on nine-of-18 three pointers and finished at 48.3-percent (28-58) from the floor.
