Bengals and Broncos down Crusaders on Saturday

BOISE, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene softball team lost to Boise State 13-1 and to Idaho State 8-5 on Saturday afternoon at the All-Idaho Invitational softball tournament at Mountain Cove Field in Boise.

Boise State used an eight-run sixth inning to end the first game on the eight-run rule. Christin Capobianco had four hits, including two home runs, and four RBI to pace the Broncos. NNU had one hit, a single by Jael Henthorn in the first.

Idaho State overcame a 4-1 deficit to beat the Crusaders in the second. Caitlin McGrath led the Begals with three hits.

Haley Hevern and Brooke Hesselgesser hit solo home runs in the second and Catherine Lowery had a solo home run in the seventh for the Crusaders, who fell to 4-10.

The Crusaders will return to GNAC action next weekend when they travel to Montana State Billings for a four-game set.
