NAMPA, Idaho - Amanda Fleer led the Western Oregon University softball team to a 7-3, 12-0 sweep as the Wolves took a Great Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader from the Crusaders on Friday afternoon at Halle Field in Nampa.

 

Fleer finished the day five for seven, hitting two home runs in the opener, and also smacking a pair of doubles to end the day with four RBI.

 

Jessica Wood (2-0) earned the win for the Wolves (4-2, 4-2 GNAC) in game one, while Cara Duckworth (1-2) took the loss for the Crusaders (1-5, 1-5 GNAC).

 

NNU was led at the plate by Arielle Chao.  Chao went three for five on the afternoon, including an RBI double in game one and collected one of only three Crusader hits in game two.

 

WOU's Jessie Lessard (2-1) tossed a three-hit gem in the nightcap, allowing only one runner past second, and gave up just three singles.  Chelsey Anderson (0-3) took the loss for NNU.

 

The teams return on Saturday for a GNAC twinbill that will begin at 11:00 a.m. MT.
