SPOKANE, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene University cross country runner
Jaclyn Puga has been selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's cross country Athlete-of-the-Week, as announced today by the conference office in Spokane, Wash.
Puga (Jr., Meridian, ID – Nampa Christian) placed 10
th out of 203 runners at Willamette in a time of 18:05.99 leading NNU to a ninth-place team finish.
She was fourth among Division II West Region athletes, trailing three runners from Chico State.
"Jaclyn finished in the top ten for her fourth straight race this season and ran quite a bit faster than she did a year ago on this same course," commented NNU assistant coach Ben Gall. "Her experience as an upperclassmen and the confidence that it brings is showing up in her races. It is great to see her being honored by the conference for her performance."
