Northwest Nazarene jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first four minutes and cruised from there to a 84-49 win over Western Oregon Thursday night in Nampa, Idaho.
Five different players scored in double figures for the Crusaders (9-5, 2-1), including Janee Olds who had 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
NNU also got 14 points from Brittney Roggenkamp, 11 each from Jennifer Williams and Briaunna King and 10 from Lindsay Brady. Williams also had seven rebounds and five assists.
Kristin Hein had seven points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals, while point guard Mallory Whipple had eight points, five assists and five steals.
Katie Torland accounted for almost half of WOU's offense with 22 points and also had a team-high seven rebounds. Western Oregon (6-8, 1-2) also got eight points from Sara Zahler.
NNU, which outshot the Wolves 53.3 percent (32-60) to 29.6 percent (16-54), led 51-19 at halftime and never trailed in the contest leading by as many as 39 points.
In addition to its huge shooting advantage, the Crusaders also had eight fewer turnovers (22-14) and 12 more steals (15-3).
The Crusaders will now host Western Washington University on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
