Northwest Nazarene University Athletics Unveils New Logos

| By:

NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene University athletic department unveiled their new athletics logo today at the 29th annual “The Legends” Crusader Athletic Association scholarship golf tournament at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa.

The new athletic logo features the letters NNU integrated into an icon, with Northwest Nazarene University joining the new icon to form the primary wordmark.  A secondary wordmark pairs the NNU mascot 'Crusaders' with the primary initial icon to form a third option for the department.

“Our entire department is excited about our new athletics logo,” commented NNU athletic director Rich Sanders.  “I would like to thank President Hagood for his support as we have journeyed through this process and we look forward seeing our new look in action this fall.”

In addition to the primary and secondary marks, two sport specific identifiers have been created, both teaming the primary initial icon with the individual sport name.  With the new icon now adorning the center of Orrin Hills Center Court in the Johnson Sports Center, an original font was also created, spelling the mascot Crusaders across each baseline.  The new font can also be seen in the masthead of NNUsports.com.

The NNU athletic logos were designed by Jim Ward of Jim Ward Designs in St. Louis, Mo.  Mr. Ward has created logos for several institutions, including the University of Missouri.

NNU will continue to use its athletic red (Pantone 200) and black color scheme, but will also welcome a new grey (Pantone 423) to the color family.
