NAMPA, Idaho - After a week of turmoil and altered schedules, the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team was able to focus on basketball, defeating Saint Martin's University 81-61 on Thursday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game played at Skyview High School in Nampa due to the fire on Sunday night at the Johnson Sports Center.

Despite the new home court, the Crusaders (11-6 GNAC, 18-8) shot 49.2-percent (30-61) from the floor and 50-percent (9-19) from the three-point line in securing their hold on third place in the GNAC.

Lindsay Brady led NNU with a game-high 19 points, converting four-of-six from the three-point line and going seven-of-12 overall.  Five Crusaders reached double-figures with Jennifer Williams adding 13, Nichole Schutte scoring 12 and both Janee Olds and Mallory Whipple netting 10.

NNU out-rebounded the Saints (10-7 GNAC, 17-9) 37-27, including 15 offensive boards, led by Schutte with four.  Schutte finished with a game-best seven rebounds, joining teammate Kristin Hein and SMU's Dara Zack who also had seven rebounds.

Zack led the Saints with 12 points, the only SMU player to reach double-figures.

Whipple and Williams each had six assists as the Crusaders handed out 20 assists to offset 20 turnovers.  SMU was forced into 22 give-aways and held to two-of-seven shooting from the three-point line.

The Crusaders will host Western Oregon University on Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. at Skyview High School in Nampa.
