RICHLAND, Wash. - The Northwest Nazarene softball team fell 11-6 to Saint Martin's and 8-5 against Western Oregon on Friday afternoon at the Clarion Hotel Central Washington Invitational, hosted at the Columbia Playfields in Richland, Washington.
In game one against the Saints (6-8), the Crusaders (0-11) knocked out 10 hits and were led by Courtney Crane and
Haley Hevern at the plate with Hevern going three-for-four and Crane two-for-three.
Dana Shipley (0-4) took the loss for the Crusaders.
Game two saw the Crusaders rally from an 7-0 deficit, scoring three in the fifth, however the Wolves answered with one in the top of the seventh and were able to hold NNU to two in the bottom half of the inning to secure the win.
Rachel Bare (0-6) was tagged with the loss in the circle.
Hevern finished the day four-for-six with three runs scored, while Crane was four-for-eight with three RBI.
The Crusaders will play twice on Saturday, facing Sonoma State at 8:30 a.m. and Western Washington at 2 p.m.
