Beth Johnson's three-pointer with 64-seconds left to play lifted the Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team to an 84-82 victory over Humboldt State on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Hampton Inn & Suites Thanksgiving Classic tournament, hosted by NNU at the Johnson Sports Center.
Johnson's triple put an exclamation point on a 12-point second-half performance for the sophomore from Kent, Washington. She finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. The Crusaders (4-2) trailed 82-80 before the three-pointer and then back-to-back defensive stops gave NNU the unofficial tournament title as the only team to win both games over the weekend.
Lindsay Brady made one-of-two free throws with six seconds remaining and an offensive rebound on Brady's miss capped Johnson's second-half exploits.

Janee Olds shared game-high honors with 17 points each, Olds matched Johnson with nine rebounds and was named the tournament Most Valuable Player. Brady was also named to the all-tournament team adding four assists, three steals, three rebounds and just one turnover in 34 minutes of action.
Jennifer Williams added 13 points and Briaunna King scored nine and grabbed five rebounds.
Humboldt State (4-2) was led by the 16 point - 16 rebound double-double of Katie Franci, while Brittney Taylor also finished with a 13 point, 10 rebound double-double. Brittney Taylor was named to the all-tournament team, finishing the weekend with 25 points and 18 rebounds.
HSU out-rebounded the Crusaders 41-39, but NNU (19-26) outscored the 'Jacks (9-12) by 10 at the foul line. Both teams shot 46-percent from the floor and made five three-pointers.
The Crusaders will travel to Denver next weekend and play in the Regis University Classic, facing Regis on Friday and Colorado Christian University on Saturday.
