TURLOCK, Calif. - The Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team opened the season with a 72-64 loss against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday afternoon at the Eve Schicke Memorial Classic, presented by Stanislaus Farm Supply in Turlock, California.
Leading 44-34 at the half, the Crusaders scored only 20 points after the break and committed 20 second-half turnovers.
Brittney Roggenkamp led all scorer's with 21 points and
Lindsay Brady added 17 as NNU shot 46.2-percent (24-52) from the floor, but just 23.5-percent (4-17) from the three-point arc and only 52.2-percent (12-23) from the free throw line.
Ennisha Kyles led the Toros with 18 points and seven rebounds, Brittney Blankenship had 16 and Neka Mixon added 15.
CSUDH (1-0) out-rebounded the Crusaders 37-32 and shot 70-percent (14-20) from the foul line.
NNU (0-1) freshman Briaunna King made her Crusader debut and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and scored seven points.
The Crusaders will look to rebound on Monday when they face CSU Stanislaus at 1:30 p.m. PST.
