LACEY, Wash. - The Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team fell 73-51 at Saint Martin's University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game on Saturday night in Lacey.
NNU is now 1-1 in GNAC play, 8-3 overall, and will return home to host Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks next weekend at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
Saint Martin's Kassie Ludeman made five of six first-half shots and finished with a game-high 19 points and six assists to lead the Saints (8-3, 1-1) to the 22-point victory.
Four NNU players -
Mallory Whipple,
Lindsay Brady,
Jennifer Williams and
Kristin Hein - scored eight points for the Crusaders, who were outshot by the Saints 55.1 percent (27 of 49) to 32.1 (17 of 53).
SMU jumped to an early 19-5 lead. The Crusaders responded with the next eight points to close to within 19-13, but the Saint then had a six-point run and maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
