BELLINGHAM, Wash. -  Northwest Nazarene University shooting guard Janee Olds came off the bench to hit five three-pointers, lifting the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team to a 69-53 win over Western Washington University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game Saturday on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

NNU improves to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in GNAC play, while the Vikings, whose school-record losing streak extended to eight games, slipped to 4-13 overall and 0-5 in GNAC play with their 12th loss in the last 13 games.

Olds scored a team-high 17 points, going five-of-nine from the arc and hitting half of the Crusaders 10 three-point field goals.  NNU outscored the Vikings by 27 from the three-point line, going 10-for-24, while WWU was just 1-for-8.  Brittany Roggenkamp also reached double-figures with 15 for the Crusaders, who completed the rare weekend road sweep of both Central Washington and Western Washington.  NNU defeated CWU 107-76 on Thursday in Ellensburg.

The Vikings trailed by just four at halftime, 27-23, but for the fourth consecutive game were hurt by a run early in the second half.  Northwest Nazarene opened the period with 12 straight points to take a 39-23 lead with 14:54 to play.  The lead stayed in double digits the rest of the way, reaching 25 points at 68-43 with two minutes left before Western closed the game with a 10-1 run.

Center Claire Pallansch had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Vikings, but shot just 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from the field, but did connect on 82.4 percent (14-of-17) of their free throws.

Western jumped to an 8-2 lead, with Pallansch scoring six of the points, and led most of the first 15 minutes.  But the Crusaders used a 13-2 run late in the first half to take a 25-19 lead with 1:57 left in the period and never trailed again.

NNU shot 41.7 percent on 3-pointers despite shooting 37.9 percent (25-of-66) from the field overall.

The Crusaders will return to Nampa and host a pair of GNAC games next weekend, facing Seattle University on Thursday night and Seattle U. on Saturday.
