NAMPA - Northwest Nazarene University head basketball coach Tim Hills announced this week that Justin Parish has signed a letter-of-intent to attend NNU and play basketball for the Crusaders this fall.
Parish, a 6-6, 210-pound forward from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, played the 2001-02 season at Moorpark College in Moorpark, California. While playing for the Raiders, Parish averaged 15 points and 13 rebounds as a freshman. He will be a sophomore next year for the Crusaders.
“Justin can really shoot the ball, which is something we were looking for,” commented Coach Hills. “With his size and athletic ability he will be able to play inside and step out on the perimeter, which will make him a tough match-up. He obviously can go and get the ball off the glass, which is something we are very excited about.”
Parish is the son of 4-time NBA champion, and Boston Celtic great Robert Parish. Robert Parish was a 2003 inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996.
