NAMPA, Id. - Northwest Nazarene basketball coach Tim Hills announced today that Justin Parnell has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Northwest Nazarene University and play basketball for the Crusaders next year.
Parnell, a 6-4, 180-pound senior from Sutherlin, Oregon, averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists as a junior last season at Sutherlin High School.
"Justin is a great kid from a great family and an outstanding high school program," coach Hills commented. "He really has no weaknesses in his game and is very good at all phases, scoring, passing, shooting, it's the whole package."
"He is going to play a lot of minutes for us next season."
Sutherlin High School coach Craig Stinnett agrees. "Justin does everything for us, all the little things and the big things. Anything we need him to do to help us win," coach Stinnett continued. "He will play all five positions at times this year and he is fine with that because he knows it gives us the best opportunity to be successful."
"Next year he will bring a lot to the table for NNU, right away, because of his size, great range, and high level of confidence. He possesses a multitude of offensive weapons: The ability to shoot the ball, great visions, and his passing skills are outstanding."
"NNU is getting a Division I college basketball player. He chose NNU because he fell in love with the school on his visit."
