NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team drew the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II National Tournament West Regional on Sunday.

The Nighthawks (28-2) will face Humboldt State (19-7) in the first round Friday at a time to be determined at UC San Diego.

NNU won its first GNAC conference title Saturday night, defeating Alaska Anchorage 70-64 to earn an automatic bid into the national tournament.

The Seawolves are the No. 3 seed and face Hawaii Pacific in the first round. If the two GNAC teams win, they will play each other for a fourth time this season Saturday.

NNU is in the tournament for a second consecutive season under head coach Steve Steele. The Nighthawks are 50-7 the past two seasons with two tournament berths, a regular-season GNAC title and the tournament title. Alaska Anchorage defeated NNU in the first round of the national tournament last season.
