GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Northwest Nazarene men's golf made the trip down to sunny Arizona early this week for the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, tying for 14th in a tournament that featured many of the top teams in the West and South Central regions.
The Nighthawks shot an 873 (+9) over the three-round event, going for 290 and 296 on day one before a one-under 287 in Tuesday's final round. NNU tied with Fort Lewis and GNAC foe Saint Martin's for the 14th spot out of 19 teams. The Nighthawks also beat out the third GNAC squad in the event, as Montana State Billings placed 19th.Â
A trio of Nighthawks tied for 47th at a one-over 217 in
Kasey Gaff, Ben Mulder, and
Daniel Rowe. Rowe was consistent across the three rounds, shooting par, -1, and +2. Gaff and Mulder both had solid final rounds of -3 to each climb 27 spots in the leaderboard on the final day.Â
Colton Sisk was next for NNU, tying for 75th at 222 (+6).
Dylan Christensen rounded out the starting five with a 229 (+13).
Noah Larson also competed as an individual, finishing at 223 (+7).
The Nighthawks will now rest up and prepare for the GNAC Championships, set to be held up north at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course from April 21-22.
