SEATTLE, Wash. — It's quickly becoming a tradition between these two teams: A scoreless draw.

For the third time in the last four meetings between Northwest Nazarene and Seattle Pacific, the two Great Northwest Athletic Conference powerhouse programs played to a scoreless draw on Saturday.

"It was a fun game to be a part of tonight," NNU head coach Joel DeLass said.

"I thought SPU was much better than us in the first half and we were lucky to be tied 0-0 at that point. Hats off to Ryan (Foo) for keeping us in it and getting our first shutout of the year."

Of course, the lack of goals didn't mean there weren't chances for both teams as Seattle Pacific's Sam Ruchlos hit the crossbar in the first half.

And the Crusaders (4-3-2 overall, 1-1-1 GNAC) had their chance, too, as Ebu Camara appeared to have the game-winner in the net in the opening seconds of the second overtime, only to see defender Jeffrey Collings clear the ball off the goal-line for the Falcons (2-3-4, 0-1-3).

"We really had a lot of guys step up at halftime and we gave ourselves a chance to win in the second half and overtime," DeLass said.

Foo finished with four saves in the shutout for the Crusaders, while SPU's Cody Lang had two saves for the Falcons.

The contest was the second straight overtime game on the road for NNU, which came away with a win and a draw this week, giving the Crusaders momentum as they head home to host No. 4-ranked Simon Fraser on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

"It's a solid weekend for us to return home with two results," DeLass said.
