NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene University track & field teams competed in the Jackson Invitational this weekend held by Boise State University at the Jacksons Indoor Track Complex at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.
On the men's side, the Crusaders posted ten Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) provisional marks and one auto qualifier for the GNAC Championships. For the women, NNU recorded eight auto qualifiers and three provisional marks.
Natalie Evans ran a two-second personal record (PR) in the 800-meter with a time of 2:16.34 just missing the NCAA provisional mark of 2:15.79. Team captain
Melissa Merioles remained as the second all-time NNU performer in both the 60-meter and 200-meter with her performances today.
Vessie Umu improved by five-feet in the shot put from last year's indoor season. Umu finished fourth in today's shot put competition throwing 42'6" moving her into the third spot on the NNU all-time list. Freshman
Hannah Borden claimed the sixth spot on the NNU all-time list pentathlon list scoring 2775.
Jessie Korb had very solid performances finishing in third and fourth place in today's men's shot put and 35# weight throw against mostly NCAA I competition. Freshman Richie Predmore moved into the fifth spot all-time at NNU in the triple jump and into the sixth spot in the long jump. Freshman
Jacob Oswalt turned in a fine performance in the men's 60-meter claiming the fourth spot on the NNU all-time list with a time of 7.23.
