NNU's Grunig wins NNU-C of I Stroke Play Challenge

NAMPA, Idaho – Zach Grunig fired a one-under par 70 to earn medalist honors on Wednesday as the Northwest Nazarene University men's golf team hosted the NNU-C of I Stroke Play Challenge at Hunter's Point Golf Club in Nampa.

 

College of Idaho's Tyler Thurston finished second with 74, while NNU's Nick Hardy and Thomas Hanacek tied for third with 76.  Tyler Tompkins rounded out the top-five with a 78 for the Crusaders over the 6,996-yard, par 71 Hunter's Point Golf Club layout.

 

Following Thurston for the Coyotes were Jeff Davies, Austen Giesie, Kyle DeLorey, and Mark Baer who each shot 79 and tied for sixth.

 

Other scores for the Crusaders included Leon Vasquez with 80, Brock Sargent (81), Tanner Roggenkamp with 82, Nic Gibson with 83, Davis Halle with 85, Bryan Beaty with 94, and Adam Freiburghaus with 100.

 

Also playing for the Coyotes were Casey Dyck (86), Jacob Reyes and James Taylor with 88, Jordan Taylor (94), and David Seppi with 96.
