NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene University head baseball coach Tim Onofrei has announced that Tanner Daylong has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play baseball for the Crusaders this fall.

Daylong (INF, R/R, 6-1, 185, Emmett, ID) is currently hitting .390 with 14 doubles, three triples, has stolen nine bases, and is slugging .667 through 20 games at Emmett High School this spring.

“Tanner is a great signing for us,” Onofrei commented.  “He is a strong and physical kid that has great versatility and we are obviously expecting really good things from Tanner.”

Daylong was a first-team 4A All-Southern Idaho Conference performer as a junior in high school and is rated 16th by Baseball Northwest regarding prospects in the Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming 2010 recruiting class.

Tanner is the son of Jeff and Stephanie Daylong and plans on majoring in Journalism when he enrolls at NNU this fall.
