(May 19, 2010) - Northwest Nazarene University senior first-baseman Jon Keller has been named to the second-team of the 2010 Northwest Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-West Region Team, as announced today by the NCBWA.

Keller (6-1, 200, Sr., Eugene, OR) earns the NCBWA honor after being named a Great Northwest Athletic Conference first-team selection twice and leading both the Crusaders and the GNAC in RBI's with 52, hitting .352 in his senior season.

Sean McDonald, Jesse Gwaltney, and Kalen Hruza each earned honorable mention selection to the NCBWA squad.  McDonald earns his honor in the outfield, Gwaltney is named as a starting pitcher, and Hruza is appointed as a relief pitcher.  All four Crusaders were first-team GNAC all-conference selections in 2010.

Gwaltney (5-11, 200, Jr., Vancouver, WA) finished the year 5-4 overall with 59 strikeouts, while Hruza (6-0, 206, Jr., Caldwell, ID) had a league-high 32 appearances, earning two saves and finishing with a 2-0 record.

McDonald (5-9, 165, So., Boise, ID) led the conference in batting average at .374, total hits with 73, and doubles with 23.

To be eligible for the NCBWA Division II All-West Region teams, student-athletes must have been selected as either first- or second-team all-conference this season. The selection panel for the NCBWA Division II all-region team consists of six baseball SIDs from within the region -- the same panel that voted weekly for the NCBWA Division II regional polls during the 2010 regular season.
