Anthony Wright won the men's 100 meters and 200 meters and also led Central Washington to a win in the 4x100 relay Saturday at the GNAC track and field championships at Monmouth, Ore.

Both Wright's 100 meter time of 10.43 and CWU's 4x100 mark of 41.10 were meet and conference records and provisional national qualifying marks, while his 200 time of 21.36 was a meet record.

Wright was involved in three of the seven men's meet records and both conference records established Saturday.

Meet records were also set in both 1500 races as Seattle Pacific's Jessica Pixler won the women's race in a time of 4:24.01 and Alaska Anchorage's Alfred Kangogo won the men's in a time of 3:49.03.

Pixler also won the 800 in a time of 2:06.38, breaking the record she set in Friday's prelims. In both races, she won her second titles also finishing first in her freshman season in 2007.

Also earning meet records were Marko Cheseto of Alaska Anchorage in the men's 5,000, Latasha Essien of Seattle Pacific in the women's 100 and Sarah Porter of Western Washington in the women's 5,000.

Essien, who also won the 200 in a time of 25.23, earned a 12.16 mark in the shorter event. Porter's time in the 5K was 16:39.39. Cheseto had a time of 14:37.18.

Ryan Brown of Western Washington won the pole vault with a meet-record vault of 16-10 3/4, while the Vikings' Alex Harrison, who earlier won the decathlon, won the javelin with a meet record throw of 208-5.

Harrison joined Kangogo, Wright, Pixler, Essien and Cheseto, who won the 10K Friday night in a time of 31:23.03, as two-event winners.

Western Washington and Seattle Pacific won the team titles, while Kangogo and Crystal Sims were selected the Outstanding Male and Female Performers in the meet.

The Vikings outpointed Central Washington 221 1/2 to 182 to win their second men's team title. They also won in 2005.

The Falcons, who won their fourth team title, claimed the women's team title with 224 points, falling 7 1/2 short of the meet record of 231 1/2 set by Western Oregon in 2004. SPU also finished first in 2002, 2006 and 2007.

Kangogo and Sims were the meet's top individual points scorers. In addition to his wins in the 800 and 1500, Kangogo finished second in the steeple on Friday and eighth in Saturday's 5,000 to finish with 29 points, one more than Cheseto.

Sims had just one victory claiming last week's heptathlon, but also earned points with second place finishes in the 200 and 100 hurdles, a third in the 100 and a sixth in the long jump and netted a total of 35 points.
