SPOKANE, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene's Chelsey Anderson has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced this morning by the league office in Spokane.
Anderson, (5-7, So., Porterville, CA) led the Crusaders to two wins in a tripleheader against GNAC leader and 19th-ranked nationally Central Washington University. In the middle game, she allowed just one run in 6 2/3 innings in a 3-1 win. She allowed five hits and walked six, but along with Nicole Grummons who got the final out, stranded 10 CWU runners.
Anderson also had three hits in eight at bats, including a double and a key two-run home run in a 5-3 victory.
The Crusaders will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Bellingham, Wash. for a four-game series at Western Washington University.
