Hope earns GNAC All-Conference Honors, joins Zach Grunig on GNAC All-Academic Team

SPOKANE, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene senior golfer Rowdy Hope has been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's golf all-conference team and joins teammate Zach Grunig on the GNAC all-academic team, as announced this week by the conference office.
 
Hope, a senior from Boise, Idaho, was named to the GNAC all-conference second-team with a season scoring average of 76.47, ranking 9th in the conference at the conclusion of the GNAC Championships on Tuesday.  Hope averaged 76.47 over his 19 rounds this season and holds the NNU individual scoring 18-hole record (4-under 68), set as a junior.
 
Grunig, a sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, carries a 3.66 GPA while majoring in Biology and makes his first appearance on the GNAC all-academic team.  On the course, Grunig finished second on the team behind Hope in scoring average at 77.15 and was the 2009 GNAC Freshman-of-the-Year.
 
Hope returns to the all-academic team for the second time, maintaining a 3.45 GPA in Psychology.
